Welcome to Twin Pines!

Twin Pines Camp, Conference & Retreat Center is a Christian, Bible-based organization seeking to bring people to Christ through the ministry of camping and retreats. Located in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania, this 205-acre facility has been in operation since its purchase in January of 1964.

We serve guests in many ways through our own summer camp and off-season programs and by offering our facilities to other ministry-minded churches and organizations to hold their own retreats and conferences. Visit our Contact Us page if you have more questions for us and how you can get connected with Twin Pines Camp, Conference & Retreat Center today.

The registration process for Lotsa Love involves two forms. The Pre-Registration form helps us determine whether or not we are able to meet the camper’s needs and if the camper can handle the program. To participate in this experience, campers must be able to communicate their basic needs, be toilet-trained, and be ambulatory. Once the camper is approved, the regular registration form can be completed.

When are you getting a real job?

Parents, have you ever said that to your child?

Teens, have you ever been confronted with that question?

I’m sure the answer to both questions is a resounding,“yes!” I know, because I’ve had people ask me when I was going to leave camp and get a “real job.” Being at camp sure beats working for a living! In addition, I’m having fun, even enjoying what I’m doing.

And who am I? Well, my name is Shawn Fetterhoff, and I’m the Executive Director of this camp. I came here in 2007 after teaching for ten years. There were those who wondered why I would give up my “real job” to work at camp full time. As for my “real job,” let me share some insights from being involved in Christian camping since I was eight years old.

Shawn Fetterhoff, Executive Director

Many folks have trouble understanding how working at a camp could be considered a “real job.” And working at a summer camp, well, that’s a waste of time and talent. After all, how can all that “fun ‘n’ games” ever be considered a “real job?” The irony is that Christian

parents will spend $8,000-$20,000 (or more) a year to provide a “good” education for their child and then say, “you can’t work at camp...you’ve got to get a real job! But let’s be honest...that’s not the real issue. Making money is the issue!

Summer Staff Jobs

Decided it’s time to look for a “real job” at Twin Pines?

Check out the positions we hire for each summer:
• Counselors
• Life Guards
• Snack Shop Manager
• Kitchen Helpers
• Handcraft Director
• Web Assistant
• Recreation Director

For many of these positions we hire multiple individuals, making up an average of 20-25 summer staff each year.

Compensation

Now that we’ve gotten to the real basis of the problem (money), let’s talk about pay. You see, at camp, the base pay for summer camp staff is $100.00 per week ($125.00 per week
for lifeguards), plus room and board, and a $200.00 bonus for working the entire summer; that’s $1,000.00 for the eight weeks of summer camp. And just what can a student make in a “real” summer job...maybe $2,500.00? That’s a difference of $1,7000.00. Is $1,700.00 too much to pay for an eight-week experience full of educational and spiritual growth that will never be touched in college? I didn’t think so!

As a matter of fact, with our shared support program, a staff member willing to put in minimum effort can make $1,500.00 or more during our eight-week summer program. And this doesn’t even take into account the tremendous benefit received. I have had parents of staff members tell me that “they should have paid us” to have their children serve on staff at Twin Pines because of the growth it produced in their lives.

Being a member of the Summer Staff at Twin Pines gives you the opportunity to share the love of Jesus with a wide variety of people.  You will have the opportunity to work with kids and adults, be a part of a program that makes a difference in the lives of people, and you will have a ton of fun!  Summer staff from the past share that they build life long friendships and a support system of people that are there for them for the rest of their life.  Don't miss this opportunity to be a part of a special group of people!  Fill out the application and send it in today!
