Welcome to Twin Pines!

Twin Pines Camp, Conference & Retreat Center is a Christian, Bible-based organization seeking to bring people to Christ through the ministry of camping and retreats. Located in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania, this 205-acre facility has been in operation since its purchase in January of 1964.

We serve guests in many ways through our own summer camp and off-season programs and by offering our facilities to other ministry-minded churches and organizations to hold their own retreats and conferences. Visit our Contact Us page if you have more questions for us and how you can get connected with Twin Pines Camp, Conference & Retreat Center today.

When are you getting a real job?

Parents, have you ever said that to your child?

Teens, have you ever been confronted with that question?

I’m sure the answer to both questions is a resounding,“yes!” I know, because I’ve had people ask me when I was going to leave camp and get a “real job.” Being at camp sure beats working for a living! In addition, I’m having fun, even enjoying what I’m doing.

And who am I? Well, my name is Shawn Fetterhoff, and I’m the Executive Director of this camp. I came here in 2007 after teaching for ten years. There were those who wondered why I would give up my “real job” to work at camp full time. As for my “real job,” let me share some insights from being involved in Christian camping since I was eight years old.

Shawn Fetterhoff, Executive Director

Many folks have trouble understanding how working at a camp could be considered a “real job.” And working at a summer camp, well, that’s a waste of time and talent. After all, how can all that “fun ‘n’ games” ever be considered a “real job?” The irony is that Christian

parents will spend $8,000-$20,000 (or more) a year to provide a “good” education for their child and then say, “you can’t work at camp...you’ve got to get a real job! But let’s be honest...that’s not the real issue. Making money is the issue!

Be Part of Changing Lives for Jesus

The closeness I feel to God at summer camp, is like no other. - possible 7th grader

I can't wait for summer camp to move closer to Jesus. - possible 10th grader

I'm feeling distant from God. - possible 5th grader

These are just a few heartfelt statements from children who are seeking meaningful experiences at Twin Pines Summer Camp. Summer camp is a unique time to help individuals draw closer to God and grow as better disciples of Jesus. YOU can be a vital part of changing lives for Jesus this summer.

However, Twin Pines Summer Camp can’t happen—and lives can’t be transformed—without dedicated Summer Staff. From the kitchen team and lifeguards at the pool and pond to Snack Shop managers, Cabin Counselors, and more, we need individuals to fill key roles and make an impact.

Many people struggle to understand how working at a camp can be considered a beneficial, life-enhancing experience. Some may see it as just “fun and games,” not realizing the incredible opportunities it provides for both spiritual and personal growth. But working at a summer camp is so much more—it’s a chance to help others grow in their relationship with Jesus, guiding them to live out His teachings and become more like Him. Every role—whether counseling, preparing meals, or running activities—plays a vital part in moving people’s lives closer to Jesus while also shaping your own.

For staff members, being part of the summer ministry offers numerous benefits that extend far beyond camp. It looks great on a résumé, showing potential employers your commitment, responsibility, and ability to make a difference. You’ll develop valuable skills like leadership, teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and adaptability—qualities essential in any career. Plus, the experience helps you grow personally, spiritually, and professionally, equipping you for future opportunities while building lifelong friendships, networks, and connections.
